Learn how to put a stop to sprawling development

October 29, 2013

A workshop for activists to learn how to stop sprawling development will be held 10 a.m. - 3 p.m., this Saturday at the Oakhurst Best Western, 40530 Highway 41.

The workshop is sponsored by the Tehipite Chapter of the Sierra Club. The workshop is free and includes lunch.

An informational flyer about the workshop states that plans are currently underway on agricultural land near Millerton Lake for 12 'new towns' with a combined population larger than the City of Clovis at buildout (150,000).

The flyer points to issues with these developments including gridlock, air pollution, and depleted groundwater, and the workshop will "show you how to stop this madness."

Individuals interested in attending the workshop can RSVP Gary Lasky, (559) 790-3495, data.nations@gmail.com.
