The Yosemite High volleyball team (4-16, 1-5) lost two North Sequoia League games last week. On Oct. 24, the Badgers travelled to Kerman where the Lions beat the Badgers 25-20, 25-21, 25-23.

Kailei Gould has five kills, Taylor Burrall recorded three stuff blocks, Page Peterson had 10 assists, and Lauren Ecklund added three ace serves.

"We had the lead in two of the sets but couldn't hold on to it for the win," said coach Sonja Mazaira. "Lauren (Ecklund) has played strong in the last two matches, contributing to our kills and digs stats. Jensen (Eames) is one of our best in serving and serve receive and is doing a good job as middle blocker — she has prevented a lot of kills from our opponents."

On Oct. 22, the Badgers fell to Sierra (14-10, 4-1) at home in three sets, 25-15, 25-20, 25-11.

Annie Boele had seven kill shots and 14 digs for the Chieftains and Kacy Falk added eight kills and recorded seven blocked shots. Jordan Falk added nine kills.

Mazaira said despite the fact her team is 1-5 in league, the players are refusing to give up.

"They take each match seriously and are striving to turn things around," Mazaira said.
