Sheriff's log for 10/24/13 edition of the Sierra Star

October 22, 2013 


11:38 p.m. Oct. 7 — A deputy was on patrol and attempted to contact a suspect with active warrants. The suspect ran after seeing law enforcement but was caught by deputies a short while later.

9:24 a.m. Oct. 8 — A business located off Highway 41 reported suspect(s) trying to pull a swamp cooler out of a wall in order to gain access to the building.

8:00 a.m. Oct. 9 — Suspect brought a locking bladed knife to school. Student was contacted and suspended from school.

8:05 p.m. Oct. 9 — Deputy was dispatched to a shopping center in regards to an intoxicated male. Subject arrested for being intoxicated in public.

8:46 p.m. Oct. 10 — Deputy dispatched for a report of an assault at a residence. The 17-year-old was arrested for battery against his mother.


1:12 p.m. Oct. 7 — An intoxicated subject was located near Highway 41 harassing customers and was arrested. Subsequent to the arrest the subject threatened officers and was booked on public intoxication and threatening an executive officer.

12:10 p.m. Oct. 11 — Deputy responded to call in regards to an intoxicated subject trespassing.

11:49 a.m. Oct. 12 — A suspect in a vehicle stopped at a residence and got out brandishing a six-inch blade knife. Suspect threatened to kill victim. Victim's father obtained a steel weight-lifting pole and confronted the suspect. Suspect left the scene following a brief confrontation. According to the victim, there has been an ongoing dispute between the suspect, victim and victim's family.

North Fork

10:15 a.m. Oct. 7 —Unknown suspect(s) took property attached to victim's front property gate. The property was estimated to be worth $150.

4:07 p.m. Oct. 7 — Mail box pod was broke into near Road 236 and Wintergreen Loop.
