Despite the poor weather conditions, the Yosemite High School girls golf team clinched their ninth consecutive North Sequoia League title Oct. 9 at Sierra Meadows.
The Badgers finished with the first five places, led by Kelsey Stieler and Jordan Ahrens.
Jessica Rudd finished third, Libby Haggard placed fourth, and Hannah McMechan earned the fifth spot.
On top of winning the league title, the Lady Badgers finished with the first five places overall for league Most Valuable Player honors.
Rudd's third place finish allowed Stieler to tie Rudd for the top spot in the MVP points chase.
Ahrens grabbed the third spot and McMechan finished in fourth. Haggard, who needed a strong showing in the finale regular season match, finished fourth place in the tournament and over took a Kerman player to nail down fifth place on the MVP list.
This is the first time in school history, the team's talent has been deep enough to take the top five spots in the league.
Next week the team will head to the North Area Championship at Madera Municipal to take on the best of the D-I schools in the area. They will be playing against large schools such as Clovis West, Clovis North and Bullard.
"Hopefully we can play good enough as a team to make it to the Valley Championship," coach Rusty Oetinger said.
