Douglas Casper Hooper, of Oakhurst, died on Oct. 2, 2013 at the age of 80.
He was born Feb. 3, 1933 in Orange County to parents Douglas and Irene Hooper.
Mr. Hooper had been a member of the Mountain Area since 2002 and served in the U.S. Navy.
Mr. Hooper worked as the owner of Doug's Corvette Service and loved to race corvettes. He raced cars for numerous years and was inducted into the Corvette Hall of Fame in 2007.
Mr. Hooper was preceded in death by his parents Douglas and Irene Hooper and sister Dolly Hooper.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy Hooper; sons Steve Bremer, of Reno, Nev., Mark Hooper of Chicago, Ill.; daughter Monica Diehl of Oakhurst; and grandchildren, Aubrey, Brent, and Arturo Bremer and Ryan and Josh Diehl.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 19, 2013 at Our Lady of the Sierra Church in Oakhurst.
