Help sought for Trunk-N-Treat

The Oakhurst College Center and the Oakhurst Area Chamber of Commerce will once again host a Trunk-N-Treat 5-7 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 31, at the corner of Crane Valley Road (426) and Civic Circle Loop.

Any clubs, organizations or businesses interested in being a 'Trunker,' are asked to contact the Oakhurst College Campus,(559) 683-3940 or email Trunkers are encouraged to come in costume and decorate their vehicles.

"Those who participate should be prepared to provide candy for about 300 children," said Darin Soukup, chamber executive director. "If you wish to participate but cannot attend, candy and prize donations can be dropped off at the college campus office."

In addition to the trunks serving candy, there will be a cake walk, face painting, story reading, and mini pumpkin decorating. Children who complete all four activities will be awarded a prize.

Prizes will be awarded in the following categories. You must be present to win.

Best costume boy and girl ages 0-3

Best costume boy and girl ages 4-6

Best costume boy and girl ages 7-10

Best costume boy and girl ages 11-14

Best costume boy and girl ages 15-18

Best costume adult

Best carved pumpkin

Best trunk

Judging for the costume contest will begin at 5:45 p.m and carved pumpkins will be judged at 6:30 p.m. and should be carved prior to entering the contest. Best trunk prizes will be awarded at 6:45 p.m.
