Cars filled the parking lot of the old Oakhurst bowling alley on Wednesday, Sept. 25 but this time it wasn't to try for a perfect game or for league bowl.
Instead members of the community lined up for the ribbon cutting ceremony at the new Grocery Outlet bargain market set to open tomorrow Sept. 26 at 7 a.m.
The Oakhurst Chamber of Commerce was in attendance and officiated the event which included more than 100 people from surrounding communities.
Brandon and Jessica Steele, owners and operators, were in attendance and thanked all the members of the community and people who helped launch Grocery Outlets 202 store. We want to thank all the people who put in their blood, sweat and tears in to make this happen, Brandon said. Without them this would not be possible.
The ribbon cutting ceremony included a walk through for local community members and members of business's in the area as well as catering by local restaurant, Crab Cakes. The walk through allowed potential customers a chance to see the inside of the newly remodeled store and compare prices to existing stores.
Grocery Outlet bargain markets are famous for beating competitors prices and in some cases and have items marked as low as 50 percent less than the competitors.
The store will be open Monday through Sunday from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. and members of the community are encouraged to join the community for the grand opening celebration on Saturday, Sept. 28 and Sunday, Sept. 29.
