Chris Blevens, 56, died Monday, Sept. 16, at Nancy Hinds Hospice in Fresno.
He was born June 3, 1957, in Northridge, Calif. A 1975 graduate of Granada Hills High School in the San Fernando Valley, he moved to Bass Lake the following year.
Mr. Blevens was a carpenter employed by The Pines Resort at Bass Lake for 37 years. It is estimated that he remodeled hundreds of homes at Bass Lake and the Mountain Area.
He was an avid sports fan, drag boat enthusiast, and a respected member of the 'V-Drive Boat Club of America.'
Mr. Blevens is survived by his father Don Blevens and wife Sally of Bass Lake, his mother, Jean Johnson and her husband Chad of Rancho Mirage, daughter Kylie of Fresno, brothers Steve Blevens of Mission Hills and Scott Blevens of Bass Lake, nieces Dawn Blevens and Summer Blevens and nephew Jess Blevens.
A celebration of life will be held at noon Saturday, Sept. 28, at Miller's Landing Resort, 37976 Road 222, Bass Lake. The celebration will be held during what is now being called the 'Chris Blevens Church Mouse Hot Boat Rally.'
