Obituary for 9/19/13 edition of the Sierra Star

James W. Center, of Bass Lake, died on Sept. 14, 2013 at the age of 81.

He was born on Aug. 20, 1932 in Cauthron, Ark.

Mr. Center served four years in the US Navy spending time in the Pacific as a gunner mate during the Korean War. After his stint in the Navy, Mr. Center found his way to the Valley were he lived in Sanger and spent the last 16 residing in the Bass Lake community.

Mr. Center is survived by his wife, Gloria Center; son, Jay Center; daughters, Jamie Center and Lora Frost; sister, Dorothy Mooney; brother, Bud Center; one granddaughter and many nieces and nephews.

A service will be held at the Little Church in the Pines, Bass Lake on Sept. 24, at 11 a.m.
