Lost Arizona man arrested in Oakhurst for stolen car

Madera County Sheriff’s arrested an Arizona man in Oakhurst after the car he was discovered in was found to be stolen.

During a routine patrol near Oakhurst Park on Tuesday, Sept. 10 around 10 p.m. Deputy Miquel Hernandez discovered a black Mazda with the trunk open and feet sticking out.

After running the vehicles information Hernandez was notified the car was reported stolen.

The man inside the vehicle was identified as 22-year-old Terry Lee Howard of Page, Arizona.

Howard claims he borrowed the car and was headed to San Francisco to find work, but ended up in Oakhurst after taking the wrong route.

Howard was transported to Madera County Department of Corrections and remains in jail with bail set at $10,000.
