Letters to the Editor - 9/12/13 edition

September 10, 2013

Dear Editor,

On behalf of the Wild Wonderful Women, and the King Vintage Museum, I wanted to thank everyone in the Mountain Area for their support of the museum through the years. Unfortunately, a lack of funding and volunteers, has forced us to close the museum at the end of the day on Sept. 30.

First, thank you to Alan King and his late wife Barbara, for amassing this wonderful collection of clothing. Alan has always been there for us, building, lifting, and moving.

Bev Houchin has been a most generous and forgiving land lady and Sierra Telephone has always been there with a donation of money or phones for silent auctions and raffles for the museum.

Rusty and Sarah Murphy helped out whenever they could and let us use the Met Cinema for fundraisers and when the Met was sold to Ray and Irma Martinez, they were equally as generous.

I thank Bill and Carol Atwood who were always ready to help, Bill Elliott and Supervisor Tom Wheeler, and all the businesses that donated to our silent auctions over the years.

Our wonderful husbands put up with our craziness and helped at all our major events. And thank you most of all to all Wild and Wonderful Women, past, present and future, for we are all wild and wonderful.

Toni Lagunoff, Oakhurst
