Overreaching degree of power

Letters to the Editor - 9/12/13 edition

September 10, 2013

Dear Editor,

Have you noticed the proliferation of "Authorities" within the Brown Administration?

These are appointed / unelected individuals with an overreaching degree of power to subjugate Madera County.

The High Speed Rail Authority and the Sustainable Community Investment Authority both seek to determine who, other than you should own your private property then dictate to the County what can and will be done with it.

I have always thought that "Authoritarian" meant a rather autocratic activity in which the people held no sway.

It seems rather similar the wholly unaccountable para-cabinet "Czars" appointed within the current presidential administration.

With these abusive and confiscatory Eminent Domain laws you are intended to have no recourse.

The camel's nose is already under the tent. When you can smell his breath, it's too late.
