Erroneous information

Letters to the Editor - 9/12/13 edition

September 10, 2013

Dear Editor,

The "injection of 30 trillion gallons of toxic fracking fluid in the last few decades," to quote Ms. Mendonca from her Aug. 22 Sierra Star letter to the editor, would require 30 million gallons to be injected in each of about one million wells that have been fracked since its inception in 1940.

This is a physical impossibility, as anyone who understand fracking can recognize. Apparently Ms. Mendonca and Mr. Chea are referencing the same erroneous, extremist information.
