Sheriff's log for 8/29/13 edition of the Sierra Star

August 27, 2013 


11:36 a.m. Aug. 12 — Deputies were dispatched to report of intoxicated subject having a bonfire. Upon contact male subject was arrested in connection with felony warrant out of Madera County.

1:50 p.m. Aug. 13 — Coca-Cola vending machine vandalized in front on Vons. Deputies reported currency and coins stolen.

12 a.m. Aug. 13 — A business reported that a customer set off alarm and reported possible stolen property. The suspect fled before deputies arrived.

10:04 a.m. Aug. 14 — Deputies were dispatched to local business regarding subject sleeping in front of business. The female subject was intoxicated and arrested for being drunk in public.

4:39 p.m. Aug. 15 — Deputies dispatched to report near Highway 41 regarding a suspicious person. Subject contacted had two outstanding warrants and was arrested on scene.

10:59 a.m. Aug. 16 — Deputies responded to a call of a subject trying to sell prescriptions pills.

11:28 a.m. Aug. 17 — Victim was shopping at grocery store with her purse in her shopping cart. When she turned away an unknown suspect(s) took victim's purse. Business was contacted about surveillance of the theft.

8:17 a.m. Aug. 19 — Deputies responded to report of vandalism at Yosemite New Life Church. Reported a rock thrown through a window causing $2,500 in damages.

The above calls are a sampling of calls to the Madera County Sheriff's Office for the week of Aug. 8 to Aug. 19 and are in no way inclusive. All suspects are assumed innocent until proven guilty.
