Rim Fire continues to rage

The Rim Fire, which is northeast of Oakhurst, has burned 149,780 acres in the Stanislaus National Forest -- 21,775 acres are in Yosemite National Park. According to YNP, the majority of fire activity in Yosemite is near Lake Eleanor and the Hetch Hetchy area. The fire is 15% contained.

The Crane Flat Campground is currently being vacated to support fire management and fire operations. The White Wolf Lodge and White Wolf Campground were closed to the public Sunday, Aug. 25 due to smoke impacts in the area.
