Single car accident downs powerlines

A single car accident occured at about 10:30 a.m., Monday, Aug. 12 on Road 628 near Highway 49.

According to the California Highway Patrol, Ann Lettiere, 49, of Ahwahnee was traveling northbound on Road 628 in her 2001 Toyota Tacoma when, for unknown reasons, hit a telephone pole and rolled her vehicle.

As a result, two power poles and a transformer were downed and access to Road 628, from Highway 49, was closed for up to an hour before a PG&E crew could replace the poles.

Lettiere received minor injuries and was treated at the scene. No citation was issued.
