Anonymous tip leads to arrest of two female fugitives in North Fork

-- Madera County Sheriff's DepartmentAugust 14, 2013

Madera County Sheriff John Anderson announced the arrest of two women — both wanted on felony no bail warrants — Tuesday, Aug. 13 in North Fork. Anderson cites the vigilance of impassioned citizens now willing to phone in tips, not only about suspicious activity but also the whereabouts of fugitives in Madera County.

A late night anonymous tip to the Madera County Sheriff’s Office led Deputy Joshua Cushing to a home on Road 222 in North Fork Aug. 13 where Lena Marie Walker, 23, who was wanted on a felony no bail warrant in Fresno for vehicle theft, and Rebecca Rachel Hodges, 24, who was wanted on a felony no bail warrant for a probation violation, were both captured. Walker was turned over to Fresno County authorities shortly before 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 14.

Hodges, who is on probation for felony evading, is being held in Madera County Department of Corrections without bail.

Anderson says if anyone sees suspicious activity or has information about wanted fugitives, call (559) 675-7770.
