Yosemite Youth Football underway

The four Yosemite Youth Football teams, Mighty Mites (age 6-8), Pee Wees (9-10), Juniors (11-12), and Seniors (13) open the season with the league carnival Aug. 24 at Kingsburg.

The season opener for all four teams is Aug. 31 in Huron with the Mighty Mites playing at 9 a.m. followed by the Pee Wees at 10 a.m., Juniors at noon, and the Seniors kicking-off at 2 p.m.

According to league president, Eric Peterson, additional players are encouraged to come out for the Mighty Mites and Pee Wee teams.

Head coaches this season are Peterson (Seniors), Aaron Pelz (Juniors), Chris Heard (Pee Wees), and Dustan Wenger (Mighty Mights).

All players and other community youth are invited to participate in the NFL Punt, Pass and Kick event at Yosemite High School at 7 p.m., Aug. 23.

9-14: Chowchilla at Yosemite: Noon, 2, 4 and 6 p.m.

9-21: Madera Ranchos at Yosemite: Noon, 2, 4 and 6 p.m.

9-28: At Washington (Easton): Noon, 2, 4 and 6 p.m.

10-5: At Kerman: 1, 3, 5 and 7 p.m.

10-12: Kingsburg at Yosemite: Noon, 2, 4, and 6 p.m.

10-19: Bye

10-26: Sierra at Yosemite: Noon, 2, 4 and 6 p.m.
