Gold Medal volleyball camp

August 13, 2013

Yosemite High School hosted a Gold Medal volleyball camp last week. Gold Medal is a nationally known camp with hundreds of camps across the country throughout the summer. More than 30 girls between the ages of 11 and 17 attended the camp from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Aug. 5 - 8. “The feedback from the players and the parents was very positive,” said YHS volleyball coach Sanja Mazaira. Monday was the first day for Yosemite High volleyball tryouts and 36 girls attended with more expected by the end of the week. “We are very pleased with the turnout especially since there are four other girls sports competing in the fall. Other Badger volleyball coaches this season are JV coach McKenzie Cox and Cari Fike coaching the freshman team and assisting with varsity. The Badgers have six seniors returning on the varsity team. “I am very excited about the upcoming season and I feel the camp was a great start,” Mazaira said.
