Skip Sevedge, of North Fork, died July 29, 2013 at the age of 70.
He was born April 5, 1943 in Oakland, Calif. to parents Clyde and Dorothy Sevedge.
Mr. Sevedge graduated from Mariposa High School in 1961 and began fighting fires with the US Forest Service. His career was interrupted when he served two tours of duty in Vietnam with the U.S. Navy.
Mr. Sevedge spent 35 years working with the Forest Service. He enjoyed family jeep rides, backpacking, hunting, and fishing.
Following his retirement Mr. Sevedge spent much of his time at the Manna House where he received "Volunteer of the Year" honors twice.
He is survived by his parents, brother Rodney and Dennis, children Heather and William, and two grandchildren.
Remembrances can be sent to the Manna House in Oakhurst or a veteran's charity.
Services will be held Saturday, Aug. 10, at 11 a.m. at the Palm Memorial Sierra Chapel in Oakhurst. Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m., prior to the service.
