Camarena Health will be hosting a free Community Health Fair, 8:30 to 11:30 a.m., Aug. 16, in celebration of National Health Center Week.
The Camarena Health Center is located at 49169 Crane Valley Road (426), adjacent to the Sierra Star.
Blood sugar and blood pressure checks are among the many services that will be provided by Camarena Health and the more than 10 organizations who will be participating. All services and information will be free to all who attend.
National Health Center Week is celebrated during the month of August every year. This year, the dates run from Aug. 11-17, and health centers across the nation will be joining together to celebrate.
Camarena Health, a federally qualified health Center, is the largest provider of primary care services in Madera County. Services provided by Camarena Health include family practice, pediatrics, dental, laboratory, immunizations, diabetes education, and asthma education.
"The center's mission is to provide the highest quality health care to the communities we are privileged to serve, in a caring and compassionate manner," said Eric Linville, Camarena's director of community development.
According to Linville, Camarena Health has built their patient base to nearly 25,000 over the course of 34 years. The expanding healthcare needs of Madera County have spurred the growth of Camarena Health's geographic reach, opening their Oakhurst facility a year ago.
