Sheriff's Log for 8/1/13 edition of the Sierra Star

July 30, 2013 


3:20 p.m. July 11 — Attempted burglary to a residence on Hillside Drive sometime between Thanksgiving and now.

6:52 p.m. July 11 — A female was reported shoplifting at a business off Road 426. The subject was later located in possession of two of the three items. The female's probation officer was notified and approved a violation of probation hold. The case was forwarded to the District Attorney Office for prosecution.

10:01 a.m. July 12 — Authorities responded to a report of an attempted burglary at the First Baptist Church on Road 427.

5:49 p.m. July 13 — Deputies observed a vehicle idling along the shoulder of the roadway and the driver was slumped over the steering wheel passed out. California Highway Patrol was contacted for a driving under the influence investigation of the driver. The CHP arrested the driver for DUI and possession of a narcotic. During the search of the vehicle multiple shotgun shells were discovered. The driver had a valid criminal protective order issued against him and was prohibited from possessing ammunition. The case was forwarded to the District Attorney's Office.


9 a.m. July 12 — Report of a stolen wallet from Chukchansi Gold Resort & Casino.

12:47 a.m. July 12 — Deputies responded to a report of a drunk and aggressive subject near Willow Pond Way. The subject was placed under arrest for public intoxication.

11:20 a.m. July 14 — Deputies dispatchers Gold Resort & Casino for a report of a female subject trying to claim a jackpot using false identification.

8:35 a.m. July 15 — Unknown suspect forced entry into locked attached garage and took property belonging to victim. Suspect also removed victims registration tab from the rear plate of the car parked in the driveway.

12:19 p.m. July 15 — Unknown suspect(s) forced entry into victim's garage near Highway 41 and took property belonging.

1:59 a.m. July 17 — Multiple juveniles were reported for starting a fight over name calling on the Internet. Both parents requested that no charges be filled and were allowed to discipline their children themselves.

6:13 a.m July 17 — Report of a stolen wallet at Chukchansi Gold Resort & Casino.

1:04 a.m. July 18 — Reported burglary and theft from a garage on Modoc Road in Coarsegold.

6:58 p.m. July 18 — Deputies responded to a reported theft at Chukchansi Gold Resort & Casino. Upon arrival, the female subject was arrested for theft and a written report was forwarded to the District Attorney's Office.

North Fork

11:44 a.m. July 17 — Burglary off Road 230. A juvenile was later arrested in connection.

Bass Lake

12:01 a.m. July 14 — Report of possible assault at Bass Lake during a party two days prior.

5:04 p.m. July 14 — Residential break-in reported on Manzanita Drive.

1:40 p.m. July 15 — Unknown suspect(s) damaged vehicle while victim was hiking in area.

3:33 a.m. July 16 — Deputy dispatched to the Pines Resort regarding a report of suspicious subjects walking near the marina area. Subjects were found rummaging through a dumpster. One subject was found to be in possession of a usable amount of methamphetamines and narcotic paraphernalia. The case has been forwarded to the District Attorney's Office for prosecution.

4:46 p.m. July 17 — Report taken on car burglary.

9:58 p.m. July 17 — Authorities responded to a possible intoxicated male subject refusing to leave the area near Road 432. Following the incident one male subject was contacted and arrested for public intoxication.
