Smoke filled region caused by Aspen fire

-- Madera County Sheriff's DepartmentJuly 25, 2013

Photo taken 7:30 a.m. Thursday 7/25 at Mile High Curve on the Mammoth Pool Road, looking toward Fresno County. It's so smokey there is almost zero visibility. Unable to know at this hour if the fire has jumped into Madera County. Smoke from the fire continues to drift across Eastern Madera County.

A lightning-sparked fire has burned an estimated 2,000 to 3,000 acres. The fire is in an inaccessible area on very steep and treacherous terrain. There have been no injuries, no structures threatened and no evacuations.
