Two-car DUI crash July 19

July 23, 2013

A two-car accident occurred around 9:54 a.m. Friday, July 19 on Crane Valley Road (426) near Meadow View Drive. According to California Highway Patrol, the accident appears to be the result of driving under the influence.

According to CHP, Barbara Yates, 42, of Oakhurst, was driving a yellow Porsche westbound on Crane Valley Road when she lost control of the Porsche on a curve and allowed the car to cross over the double yellow lines. Yates side-swiped a white Ford Escape, driven by Lillion Dilley, 77, of Oakhurst, that was heading eastbound on Crane Valley Road. The impact projected the Ford off the road and down an embankment, where it then rolled onto its side.

Dilley was assisted out of the vehicle but had complaints of pain and was transported by ambulance to Clovis Community Hospital. According to CHP, Yates showed signs of intoxication and was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence. She suffered injuries to her head and left arm and was released to Community Regional Medical Center in Fresno for continued treatment.
