Sheriff's Log for 7/11/13 edition of the Sierra Star

July 9, 2013 

Oakhurst

3:54 p.m. June 28 — The father of a juvenile discharged a 357 magnum in the direction of the juvenile's boyfriend after he saw them in a physical altercation. The weapon was discharged in a negligent manner. The subject was arrested and booked into the Madera Department of Corrections.

7:49 a.m. June 24 — An unknown suspect jumped a fence off School Road and tried to break into the snack bar at the gym. The window frame was bent but not large enough for entry.

9:22 p.m. June 24 — Intoxicated subject at Oka's Restaurant off Highway 49.

2:50 p.m. June 26 — Subject had an outstanding felony warrant out of Tulare County and was found to be in possession of marijuana. He was arrested and transported to the Madera Department of Corrections without incident.


Coarsegold

7:31 p.m. June 28 — A suspicious vehicle was parked in a Coarsegold area neighborhood. Deputies contacted the occupant of the vehicle and learned the vehicle he was driving was reported stolen and he was in possession of a loaded handgun. The driver was arrested without incident. The case was forwarded to the District Attorney's Office for prosecution.

10:25 a.m. June 26 — Report of a burglary off Kit Carson Court.

8:42 a.m. June 26 — Burglary off Highway 41.

9:03 a.m. June 26 — A unattended duffle bag was found inside the doors of Chukchansi Gold Resort & Casino off Lucky Lane. During an investigation, the bag was found to have personal toiletries and clothes.

North Fork

2:57 p.m. June 25 — Unknown suspect(s)pried open the back of a cluster of mailboxes located at Road 223 and Taylor Ridge and on Road 221 at Klettes Pride Way.

9:02 p.m. June 29 — A male subject was reported as driving erratically and causing a disturbance in the campground of a North Fork area lake. The male subject was located lying in the middle of a roadway. The male subject was arrested for public intoxication. The case was forwarded to the District Attorney's Office for prosecution.

Bass Lake

2:20 a.m. June 29 — A subject was found passed out behind the wheel of his pickup, which was parked partially in the roadway with the headlights on. The subject was arrested for being drunk in public.


Ahwahnee

10:20 p.m. June 29 — A male subject was yelling in a yard off Highway 49. A deputy found the subject to be under the influence of alcohol and drugs. A search of the male lead to finding a controlled substance. The subject was booked into county jail.


The above calls are a sampling of calls to the Madera county sheriff's Office for the week of May 29 to June 5, and are in no way inclusive. All suspects are assumed innocent until proven guilty.
