Lawrence 'Larry' Vernon Meredith

Obituary for 7/4/13 edition of the Sierra Star

Lawrence "Larry" Vernon Meredith died June 29, 2013, at the age of 71.

Mr. Meredith was a longtime resident of Bass Lake and North Fork.

He was born Jan. 2, 1942 in Edmonton, Canada.

Mr. Meredith enjoyed hot rods, drag racing, water skiing, ski trips with family, and dancing.

He graduated from Glendale City College with an A & E mechanics license to work on aircraft and went to work for Western Airlines.

After retiring from Western, he moved to Bass Lake. He bought the Gas N Stuf mini-market gas station in North Fork and ran a successful business there for a number of years. He was a member of Sierra Vista Presbyterian Church and taught couples Country Western dancing with his wife.

Mr. Meredith is survived by wife Sharley; brother Wayne; son Steve; daughter Linda and husband Sammy Fox; and twin grandsons, Carter and Landon Fox.

A celebration of life may be held at a later date.

Remembrances may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, in Larry's name.
