Cooling Centers

The County of Madera has established Cooling Centers in Eastern Madera County for times of extreme summer heat. Those centers include:

Coarsegold Community Center, 35540 Highway 41 in Coarsegold — 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. Details: (559) 683-3811.

Sierra Senior Center, 49111 Cinder Lane in Oakhurst — 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Monday through Friday. Details: (559) 683-7953.

Yosemite Lakes Park Clubhouse, 30250 Yosemite Springs Parkway in Coarsegold — 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily. Water available from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday at the clubhouse office. Details: (559) 658-7466.

Activation of the Cooling Center sites, beyond regular operating hours, will be assessed on an "as need" basis. Other Centers may be opened on an "as need" basis and will be announced through the Madera County Sheriff's Office. Centers are closed on holidays unless otherwise indicated.
