Dodgers lose in tournament semi-finals against Riverpark

The Sierra Mountain Little League Dodgers (19-3) finished their season June 20 with a 7-1 loss to the undefeated Riverpark Yankees in the semi-finals of the District 10 Tournament of Champions.

The final game saw some timely hitting by the Yankees and a few errors by the Dodgers. Ravi Neill had the RBI for the Dodgers with a base hit, scoring Samuel Burnheimer from second. Burnheimer had singled to lead off the inning and advanced to second on Ty Peterson's sacrifice .

The team advanced to the semi-finals after beating the Sanger Yankees (17-2) on June 18 in the opening round of the tournament, 6-3, at Riverpark.

The Dodgers were lead by Burnheimer who went 3-for-3 at the plate with three RBIs. Peterson who went 1-3 with a triple that drove in a run.

On the mound, Burnheimer recorded seven strikeouts in 3 2/3 innings and Peterson had five strikeouts in two innings.

The Sierra Mountain Little League All Stars play Madera American Saturday at 12:30 p.m. in Madera.
