Queen's Inn to host jazz concert

Participants in the 10th Annual Guitar College, hosted by Rich Severson, will perform from 7 to 9:30 p.m., Thursday, June 27 at the Queen's Inn in Oakhurst.

Twenty guitarists and five bass players from across the United States and Canada will be performing in a Jazz Guitar Concert 7-9:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 27 at the Queens Inn Wine & Beer Garden, 41193 Highway 41 in Oakhurst.

The concert is the grand finale of an annual five day Yosemite Jazz Workshop being held June 23-27 at Evergreen Conference Center in Oakhurst. The jazz workshop is hosted by area jazz guitarist Rich Severson and sponsored by his educational company, GuitarCollege.com.

Featured performances will include Severson and his guest artist instructors bassist Todd Johnson from Phoenix (Toddjohnsonmusic.com), guitarist Barry Zweig of Los Angeles (Barryzweig-guitar.com), guitarist Mike Dana and drummer Gary Newmark, both of Fresno.

Tickets are $10 per person and can be purchased at the door. Paid admission includes a jazz festival T-shirt and all proceeds will benefit the Oakhurst Area Chamber of Commerce. Artist's CDs and Yosemite Jazz souvenirs will be available to purchase at the event.

The event is being sponosred by the chamber, Guitar College and Idle Hour Winery.
