Mary Elizabeth Ross "Beth Ross" Stephens died May 18, 2013, at the age of 97.

She was born in 1916 in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.

Mrs. Stephens was a resident of the Mountain Area for many years.

She was an accomplished artist that worked with oils and pastels.

Mrs. Stephens enjoyed spending time at the ocean and lakes; camping; touring by motorhome with her loved ones; telling stories about her travels, childhood and things of historical importance; playing cribbage, solitaire and bridge; and spending time with family and friends.

She was preceded in death by first husband Gordon Ross, second husband Frank Stephens, daughter Kathleen Ross, sons Danny and John Ross, and her granddaughter.

Mrs. Stephens was an active member of Eastern Star, Beta Sigma Phi, Morro Bay Art Association, Cayucos Art Association, Morro Bay Women's Club and The Historical Society of Morro Bay.

She is survived by her son David Ross of Morro Bay; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and nine great-great grandchildren.

A memorial will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 15 at The Rock Harbor Church, 1475 Quintana Road in Morro Bay, with a reception to follow at the Morro Bay Eagles Club, 2933 N. Main St., Morro Bay.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society and The Historical Society of Morro Bay.
