Baker Swim Complex opening June 10 for public swimming and children lessons

Public recreational swimming will begin Monday, June 10, at the Baker Swim Complex located at Yosemite High School, 50200 School Road (427), Oakhurst. Hours of operation are noon to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday, and noon to 6 p.m. on Saturday. The complex is closed Sunday.

Admission for public swimming is $4 per person ages one and up before 5 p.m., $3 after 5 p.m. and $3.50 for seniors.

Water aerobics will also be offered Monday through Friday, 9-10 a.m.

Beginning lesson programs will be offered: Baby and Me, pre-school age and school age. Sessions will run June 10 through Aug. 17.

Daily lessons will be held Monday through Friday in two-week sessions with 10 lessons per session.

The Summer Fast Start Sessions will be held June 10-21; June 24-July 5 (no class July 4); July 8-19; July 22-Aug. 2; Aug. 5-16. Classes are 30 minutes each between 3 and 7 p.m.

Baby and Me classes are for 6 to 35-month-old children, and are for parent and child. Cost is $79. Pre-school is ages three and four. Cost $119. School-age is five years and older. Cost is $119.

There is a once-per-year registration fee of $35 for each family.

The pool is also available for parties during normal business hours. The party costs $140, and includes three hours in the pool, three hour use of party area, 20 guests (additional guests are $7.50 each), cake or cupcakes, juice box drinks, and a personal party host. Renters must bring decorations, plates, forks and candles. Pizza or hot dogs / chips can be arranged at discount rates. Times available are Noon-3 p.m. and 3-6 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
