-- Coarsegold Historical SocietyMay 29, 2013

The 2013 "Music and Art in the Meadow" event will be held from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, June 1 at the Coarsegold Historic Museum, 31899 Highway 41, as a fundraiser for the Coarsegold Historical Society.

"Bring a chair or blanket, and enjoy a lovely afternoon surrounded by history and bathed in fun music," said Steve Core, president of the Coarsegold Historical Society.

This year's event will feature "all music, all the time" with two bands playing non-stop throughout the afternoon. Featured performers are "Crossfire" who play lively bluegrass music, and the "Morgan Canyon Band" who perform "mellow rock" from the 60s and 70s. Local artists will also display their works.

Admission is $10 to the fundraiser, sponsored by Sullivan's Tire Pros, Kenli, Inc., and Veater Financial. Food and beverages (including beer, and the wines of Englemann Cellars and Fasi Estate) will be available. There will also be a silent auction featuring many items and a 50/50 drawing. Docents will be available for museum tours.

Tickets are available in Coarsegold at Goldmine Pizza, Coarsegold Miner's Grill, Kenli, Inc. and at the Coarsegold Museum. In Oakhurst, they are available at Dorsey's Hallmark, Sierra Seafood, Oakhurst Giftworks and the Yosemite Sierra Visitors Bureau.
