Marijuana Bust

-- Madera County Sheriff's OfficeMay 22, 2013

Agents with Madera County Narcotics Enforcement Team carried out their first marijuana eradication mission this season May 16. They seized close to 5,000 plants and arrested two Mexican nationals -- Mario Mosso, 25, of Acapulco, Mexico and Armando Lara, 30, of Michoacán, Mexico. The pair was found tending to a garden located in the Indian Creek area of the Sierra National Forest in North Fork.

Lara was found to be in possession of more than three grams of methamphetamine, as well as drug paraphernalia.

Both men, facing felony narcotics charges, were taken into custody without incident and booked into Madera County Jail. Each is being held on an immigration hold.
