Roy Williams III died May 13, 2013, at the age of 51.

Mr. Williams was a lifelong resident of Madera County.

He was born Dec. 6, 1961 in Fresno.

Mr. Williams grew up in Bass Lake and attended Bass Lake Elementary and Yosemite High School.

He worked as a roofer and enjoyed motorcycling, snowmobiling, quad riding, boating and fishing with his father at Mammoth Pool, and fishing and backpacking in the High Sierra. He also enjoyed collecting classic cars and motorcycles, and spending time with his family.

Mr. Williams was a member of the Morongo band of Mission Indians and is a descendant of the Eagle clan and Red-Tail Hawk clan of Mono Indians.

He was preceded in death by grandparents Roy and Nellie Williams and Don and Nelleta Scherf; niece Darcy Jordan; cousin Michael Hughey; uncle Leon Scherf; and aunt Joan Galyon.

He is survived by parents Roy and Donna Williams of Bass Lake; sisters Angie Williams of Wishon and Cynthia Huff of Kinsman Flats; companion Shay Wilson; and many extended family members.

A memorial service was held Wednesday at the North Fork Cemetery.
