Boys and girls in third through eighth grade will have the opportunity to learn four sports during the June 17-20 Yosemite Badgers Sports Camp. The sports that will be available at the camp are football, volleyball, basketball, baseball, softball, tennis, golf, water polo, track, soccer and cheer.
"This camp is going to be a lot of fun, and I encourage all the children in the Mountain Area to sign-up," said Pat Lynch, Yosemite High School JV football coach. "The camp is set-up at the introductory level for all participants looking to learn basic skills about a variety of sports," Lynch said. "The camps main focus is to give children a positive first step into athletics. The essentials of athletics will be taught in a well-structured atmosphere with lots of encouragement. It also gives children a great way to stay active while meeting new friends, and learning new sports."
The camps will be held 8 a.m to 3 p.m. each day.
Lynch said the coaching staff is made up of energetic and knowledgeable coaches who will teach camp participants skills in a fun and upbeat way, making sure each individual participant is learning something new in each sport every day.
"Every participant will be given the necessary attention to learn at their own pace with a big focus on having fun," said Michelle Chenowith, Yosemite High athletic director. "There will be a one coach to 10 camper ratio."
Registration fee is $80 for all four days of instruction, lunch, snacks and camp T-shirt.
