Olympic hopeful at Yosemite tonight

Sports Brief for 5/9/13

May 9, 2013

The Yosemite Swim Club will be hosting a clinic at 5 p.m. tonight (Thursday) for any USA registered swimmer featuring Cheyenne Coffman. Coffman grew up in Auberry and is a former member of the Fresno Pacific University swim team and is now an Olympic hopeful.

Through her hard work, she has become a force to be reckoned with in the swimming world placing 10th in the 100 meter backstroke at the 2012 Olympic Trials (the top eight made the team). As she continues to improve, Coffman has her eyes set on the USA 2016 Olympic Team.

"This clinic and the opportunity to meet Cheyenne is an unique opportunity for the swimmers in the Mountain Area," said Jules Tuggle, coach of the Yosemite Swim Club.
