David Shannon Jeffries died April 13, 2013, at the age of 76.
Mr. Jeffries was a resident of the Mountain Area for 25 years.
He was born Nov. 22, 1936 in Clay County, Missouri.
Mr. Jeffries worked as a floor covering sales person.
He enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Mr. Jeffries was preceded in death by sons Michael and Patrick.
He is survived by wife Linda Jeffries; son James of Whittier; daughter Tawney of Oakhurst; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister Mary Holtzclaw of Santa Barbara; brother Greg Jeffries of Hemet; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 26 at the Oakhurst Seventh-day Adventist Church on the corner of Crane Valley Road (426) and Echo Valley Road (423).
Nola Allen died April 20, 2013, at the age of 82.
Mrs. Allen was a resident of Oakhurst for 54 years.
She was born Aug. 6, 1930 in St. Louis, Missouri.
Mrs. Allen enjoyed brightening up other peoples lives, singing, and spending time with her family.
She enjoyed various jobs throughout her life, assisting her husband with various businesses, working as a counter clerk for McDonalds in Oakhurst, and as a nursing assistant. She also enjoyed sharing the community at Mountain Christian Center in Oakhurst.
She was preceded in death by husband of 59 years, Grady Allen Jr.
Mrs. Allen is survived by siblings Ola Hall, Marilyn Roberts and Bob Roberts; daughter Patricia (Patty) Licon; grandchildren Jason Bentley, Jared Bentley, Erinn Keenan, David Licon and Emily Licon; and great-grandchildren Olivia, Clare and Ian Keenan, and Micah Clem.
A private memorial service will be held Sunday, May 5.
Dr. Arthur Dalgleish
Dr. Arthur Dalgleish died April 14, 2013, at the age of 92.
Mr. Dalgleish was a resident of Coarsegold for 23 years.
He was born Aug. 14, 1920 in Wilmington.
Mr. Dalgleish was a teacher and retired professor from Loma Linda University, where he taught for 45 years.
He had a PhD. in biology and enjoyed gardening, nature, photography and watercolor painting.
Mr. Dalgleish was a student of the Bible and biblical prophecy, and attended Oakhurst Seventh-day Adventist Church. He was also a cabinet maker.
He is survived by wife Helen Dalgleish; daughter Kathryn Gregory; son Dr. Gerald Dalgleish; grandsons Major Dwight Christiansen (U.S. Army), David Christiansen, and Roger Dalgleish; granddaughter Nicole Dalgleish; great-granddaughter Krystal Christiansen; sister Marilyn Thunquest; and brother Milton Dalgleish.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, May 3 at Oakhill Cemetery, with a memorial service to be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 4 at the Oakhurst Seventh-day Adventist Church, 50690 Crane Valley Road (426), Oakhurst.
Sgt. 1st Class Robert E. Diffey, Ret.
Sgt. 1st Class Robert E. Diffey, Ret. died April 28, 2013 at the age of 74.
Mr. Diffey was a resident of North Fork for 29 years.
He was born Feb. 14, 1939 in Tranquility.
Mr. Diffey worked as a mechanic, and served in the U.S. Army for 24 years.
He was preceded in death by father Ernest Diffey.
Mr. Diffey is survived by his wife Linda Diffey; mother Helen Diffey; children Debbie, Laurie, Bobby, Ron, Don, Lisa, George, Michele, Sharon, and Rebecca; 28 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, May 6 at the Fresno Memorial Gardens, located at Belmont and Cornelia avenues.
