Sheriff Log for 4/25/13 Edition

2:44 p.m., April 9 -- Delayed shoplifting reporting at Raley's Supermarket regarding an incident that occurred April 6.

9 a.m., April 9 -- Solar lights were stolen from driveway and home off Westview Drive.

12 p.m., April 15 -- Laptop, shoes and cash stolen from residence off Pierce Drive.

8:50 a.m., April 13 -- Residential burglary off Sierra Lakes Drive. John Edwin Ruano, Jr., 28, was arrested.

3:08 p.m., April 9 -- Weapons brandished between two male subjects during a child exchange.

12:55 p.m., April 14 -- Metal shelves stolen from the back yard of a business off Highway 41.

3:54 p.m., April 11 -- suspects exchanged words and then broke out in a fight on a school campus off School Road. Both female suspects received minor injuries, hair pulled out and cuts and scratches. Both students were suspended from school and the case was referred to Madera County Probation.

12:34 p.m., April 14 -- Radio Shack reported a theft.

9:22 a.m., April 9 -- Welfare office, located off Highway 41, reported a theft.

9:31 a.m., April 13 -- An unknown suspect took property from victim's backpack at school.

9 a.m., April 12 -- Suspect found in possession of a locking bladed knife on a school campus. The suspect was suspended from school and the case was referred to Madera County Probation.

12 p.m., April 16 -- Chukchansi Gold Resort & Casino requested that found contraband be picked up from their facility.

5:18 p.m., April 11 -- A home was burglarized and a 14-year-old juvenile was arrested.

2:04 a.m., April 15 -- Deputy on a self initiated patrol check at Chukchansi Gold Resort & Casino responded to an intoxicated male inside the casino lobby. While gathering information from the intoxicated male, a female subject approached the male acting like his friend. The female subject was found to have a no bail felony warrant out of Fresno County. She was taken into custody and transported to the Madera Department of Corrections. The female was also found to be in possession of a glass pipe used for ingesting narcotics and out of custody charges will be filed. 10:03 a.m., April 9 -- A subject tamped with the public utilities water system off Big Sandy Drive. According to the water company supervisor, the subject's service had been shut off for nonpayment but he repeatedly cut the lock off the valve and turned the water back on . The water company stated they would like to file charges for the theft of water and vandalism to the lock(s). A report was taken and filed with the Madera County District Attorney's Office.

9:25 a.m., April 11 -- A weedeater was stolen from a barn off Wells Road.

5:27 a.m., April 12 -- A male subject was contacted who had a felony bench warrant issued for his arrest. A search of his person yielded narcotics paraphernalia. The case was forwarded to the District Attorney's Office for prosecution. A copy of the report was forwarded to Fresno County Probation.

9:58 a.m., April 11 -- Several gardening tools were stolen in a residential burglary off Highway 41.

5:20 p.m., April 10 -- Residential burglary in Yosemite Lakes Park while occupants were away.

5:46 a.m., April 16 -- Home burglary off Powder Horn Way.

3:20 p.m., April 15 -- Vandalism to four vehicles off Amber Lane.
