Oakhurst College event April 30

The Oakhurst College Campus will host a Community Unity event from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, April 30 on its campus at the corner of Crane Valley Road (426) and Civic Circle.

There will be Mountain Area vendors, service groups and colleges from around the area. There will also be free food, music, workshops, games, and prize drawings.

Workshops that will be held include:

11 a.m. -- Getting Cash for College

11:30 a.m. -- Stress Reduction

Veterans' resources and information will also be available. School representatives from faculty, Health Services, Disabled Students, Academic Counseling, Veterans' Services, Cal Works, Student Outreach, Student Government, Alpha Gamma Sigma, the Science Club, and Financial Aid will be available to provide information, as well as answer questions.

The Blood Bank will be on campus from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. to accept blood donations.

"This is a great opportunity to enjoy some food, learn more about our amazing community, and perhaps win some prizes," said Vikki Piper, Oakhurst Center coordinator.
