Softball team short on hits

The Yosemite High School softball team (5-12, 0-3) lost two North Sequoia League games last week -- 4-3 to Sierra (7-14, 1-3) on April 16 and 3-0 to league leading Chowchilla (17-6, 4-0) April 19.

Against Chowchilla, the Badgers had four hits, including two from senior Alyssa Esposito and a double by losing pitcher Emily Moe. Against Sierra, the team managed just three hits, including doubles from Esposito and junior Tiala Manning and a single from Moe.

Mow leads the team in hitting with 17 hits and a .450 average. She has scored 10 runs on the season. Senior Phoenix Skeahan has 17 hits on the season, has scored 15 runs and is batting .405.

The Badgers host Liberty Friday at 4 p.m.
