Madera County Sheriff John Anderson announced the arrest of an Eastern Madera County woman Friday, April 12, who was wanted for shooting her male friend in Raymond.
Rachel Diane Silva, 29, wanted since April 6 for assault with a firearm, was captured by sheriffs deputies Friday, April 12 at Hensley Lake.
On April 6, deputies responded to a home on Road 810 in Raymond shortly after 10 p.m. An apparent argument between the pair ended when the suspect withdrew a gun and shot at the victim as he tried to run back inside his home.
The 51-year-old victim suffered a gunshot wound to the buttocks.
The suspect fled the scene before deputies arrived.
A six-day search for the alleged shooter ended around 12 p.m. Friday, April 12 when deputies received a tip that the suspects vehicle was found near Hensley Lake.
Silva was taken into custody without incident and booked into Madera County Department of Corrections on suspicion of attempted murder. Her bail was set at $1 million.
The victim is recovering from his injury.
