Two Chowchilla men, one who lists his occupation as U.S. Diplomat and the other wanted for vehicle theft, are now behind bars facing felony drug charges following an early morning vehicle stop near a Valero gas station on Avenue 24 in Chowchilla.
Richard David Velez, 44, along with Johnathan Daniel Cobian, 25, were booked into the Madera County Department of Corrections shortly after 2:30 a.m., Friday, April 5.
Cobian, who is on probation for vehicle theft, was wanted on three warrants one for vehicle theft, the other two for traffic violations.
Both suspects were found to be in possession of Methamphetamine.
Cobians bail was set at $25,000.
Velez bail was set at $5,000.
