Bob Stone died March 15, 2013, at the age of 91.
Mr. Stone was a resident of North Fork and Bass Lake for 37 years.
He was born Aug. 30, 1921 in Trenton, N.J.
Mr. Stone graduated from Taft Junior College, where he also played football.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, and became a staff sergeant while stationed at Yuma.
Mr. Stone later worked for North American Aviation in Los Angeles; and retired as a diesel mechanic on drilling rigs for Standard Oil in Taft.
He volunteered as a Boy Scout leader, recreation center board member, and was a member of the Elks Club, Quarterback Club, and Bass Lake Boat Club.
Mr. Stone enjoyed spending time with his family at Bass Lake, card groups, barbecues, entertaining friends and family, attending local events, and area politics.
He was preceded in death by wife Frances Stone.
Mr. Stone is survived by brother Fred of Woodland; sister Emily of Paskenta; son Bob of O'Neals; daughter Carol of Millerton Lake; granddaughter Tricia of San Luis Obispo; and grandson Dylan of Fresno.
