Yosemite High School distance runner Alek Simpson had the highest finish of any member of the YHS track & field team at the March 16 Rafer Johnson Invitational in Kingsburg. with an 8th place finish in the 1,600 meter race with a time of 4:37.65.
Considered won of the strongest track meets in the Central Valley, more than 20 schools participated. Traditional track powers at the meet included Clovis West, Edison, Frontier and Madera South. Frontier High of Bakersfield took the boys crown with 73 points. On the girl's side, El Diamante of Visalia was the winner with 60 points.
