18-year-old facing charges after brandishing replica handgun near bus stop

Joshua Oldham, 18, of Coarsegold, is facing charges for brandishing a replica handgun as he drove past a school bus stop Tuesday, March 18.

According to reports, Oldham, a passenger inside the vehicle, was seen raising the weapon as his car passed by a bus stop shortly after 4 p.m.

Deputies caught up with the vehicle at Spring Valley Elementary School on Road 200 in O’Neals where they took Oldham into custody.

It is unlawful to exhibit replica handguns in public in the state of California.

Joshua Oldham was booked into Madera county Department of Corrections with bail set at $5,000.

Spring Valley was placed on temporary lockdown during the incident.
