Kindergarten registration is being held throughout the Mountain Area. Children must be 5 years old by Oct. 1, 2013 to qualify for Kindergarten entry for the 2013-13 school year. If the child's birthday falls between Oct. 2 and Dec. 1, children can be eligible for Transitional Kindergarten (only applicable at some schools).

North Fork -- Registration, or "Kindergarten Roundup," will be held Friday, March 22. Parents and children will meet with kindergarten teachers, the school nurse and the speech therapist. Parents need to bring a completed registration packet, which is available at the front office. Parents must also bring the child's birth certificate and immunization record. Spring Valley: Registration will be held from 8:30 to 4 p.m. Thursday, April 18. Parents can call the school at (559) 868-3343 ext. 0 to schedule an appointment. A registration packet will then be mailed to each person that called. Forms should be filled out and completed by registration day. Parents must also bring the child's birth certificate and immunization record.

Coarsegold Elementary -- a date has not yet been set. However parents can call Anita Daniel at the school at (559) 683-4842 ext. 250 to inquire about a registration date. Parents will need a legal birth certificate for their child, immunization records, a Social Security card and proof of residents.

Rivergold Elementary -- Kindergarten enrollment packets will be available from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Rivergold School office beginning March 1. Parents are asked to fill out the paperwork and return the completed packet to the office right away. Upon receipt of packet, a screening appointment will be set up for each child. Screening will be held Tuesday, April 16. Children must be screened before starting Kindergarten.

Parents must bring the child's birth certificate, enrollment forms, proof of residence in the Rivergold attendance area (utility bill, or rent receipt including address of residence), current immunization record, verification of T.B. test indicating results (dated on or after Aug. 1, 2012), and students must have a physical and dental exam.

Oakhurst Elementary School -- Kindergarten enrollment packets will be available from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. Friday, May 17.

Wasuma Elementary has not set a registration date yet.

Raymond-Knowles Elementary School: Registration will be held May 15 by appointment only. Parents must bring in the child's birth certificate and immunization records. Details: (559) 689-3336.
