Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. announced Friday, March 8 that Manuel Nevarez, 40, of Madera, has been appointed to represent District 1 on the Madera County Board of Supervisors. District 1 includes ONeals and a portion of the Valley floor.
Nevarez has been an account executive at PMAC Lending Services Inc. since 2010 and owner of ACN Inc. since 2008. He was a senior account executive at Washington Mutual Bank from 1998 to 2008 and a senior loan officer at Santa Fe Mortgage from 1997 to 1998. Nevarez is a member of the Madera Community Action Network and chairman of the Madera Unified School District Citizens Bond Oversight Committee.
Max Rodriguez, chairman of the Madera County Board of Supervisors, was happy to announce the governor's appointment.
"I think I speak for all of the board when I say that we are glad to have a fifth supervisor on the team and look forward to working with Manuel as we tackle the issues facing our community," Rodriguez said.
The supervisor position does not require Senate confirmation and the compensation is $71,515. Nevarez is registered decline-to-state.
