Moe strikes out 14

Four-year varsity pitcher Emily Moe threw a complete game five-hitter March 1 as the Yosemite High School softball team opened the 2013 season with an impressive 8-3 victory over Roosevelt High of Fresno. Moe struck out 14 Roosevelt batters during the game.

Yosemite scored two runs in the first and second innings and added a run in the third to take a 5-1 lead.

Phoenix Skeahan led off the bottom of the first with a single to left. Mariah Lincoln walked and Moe drove in Skeahan with a hard hit sacrifice to right. Lincoln advanced to third on a passed ball and scored on a fielders choice to give the Badgers the early lead.

Skeahan lead Yosemite with three hits while Brittny Sneed, Miranda Medina, Keirsten Riggs and Moe had two hits apiece.
