For the 11th consecutive season, the Yosemite High School girls basketball team has won the North Sequoia League championship after defeating Kerman 56-31 at home Feb. 15.

Two sophomores, Veronica Miller and Mattaya Brown, were the leading scores for the playoff-bound Badgers, with 20 and 14 points respectively.

On Feb. 13, the Badgers beat Chowchilla 53-30 after losing to the Redskins earlier in the season.

After a Tuesday bye, the team plays tonight (Thursday) at Visalia's Redwood High School in the second round of the CIF Central Section Division II playoff tournament. Yosemite, with a student population of 720, has 15 wins on the season and is the No. 6 seed in the division averaging 46 points a game.

Redwood, with a school population of 2,000, is seeded No. 3 in the division after having a 21-win season and averaging 60 points a game.
