Walter Colburn Tuttle

Walter Colburn Tuttle died Feb. 7, 2013, at the age of 88.

Mr. Tuttle was a resident of North Fork for 45 years.

He was born Jan. 4, 1925, in Portland, Ore.

Mr. Tuttle was the former owner/baker of the Pines Village Bakery in Bass Lake for 22 years. In his retirement, he gathered and sold sugar pine cones to tourists.

Mr. Tuttle was a member of the Bass Lake Volunteer Fire Department, member and supporter of Boy Scouts of America through Troop 357 in North Fork, and a regular donor to the California Blood Bank.

He is survived by children Judy Tuttle of North Fork, Albert Tuttle of Oakhurst, Becky Tuttle of Fresno and Tom Tuttle of Fall City, Wash.; and grandchildren Travis Thornton, Tera Fry, Jesa Herman, Amanda Dennis, Mike O'Connor, and Tim O'Connor; great-grandchildren Noah and Mara Thornton, Joel and Faith Fry and Braydon O'Connor.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Monday, Feb. 25 at Palm Memorial Sierra Chapel, 49269 Crane Valley Road (426), Oakhurst.
